1.325v for a stable 4.6 all core. Temps peak around 80c even though I'm running a custom loop with a 480mm rad that is exclusively used to cool the CPU. I didn't have too much time to tinker with it yesterday but I may eventually just run this stock due to the high boost clocks. 3-4 cores were...
5950x came in today and so far very impressed. Looks like 4.6 all core is about the max I can do without having to bump the voltages really high. 11514 is the max I've hit so far running at 4.6 and 3600 CL16 memory
My 5950x is arriving this Sunday. Really stoked to see what this chip is capable off. Going by today's launch I can only imagine how difficult it might be to get a 6900xt. Hoping I get lucky then as well 🙂
I managed to get a 5950x from AMD direct. It was very dicey but maybe I got lucky. I had both Newegg and AMD open and Newegg instasold in under a second . Pretty hyped right now. Just need a 6900xt and should be good upgrade wise.
My nearest microcenter is in Houston which is a 3hr drive for me so I have to play the refreshing game. I would have definitely camped outside microcenter if I lived nearby :)
Pretty much the same as me. Last time I had an all red system was during the 9800 Pro days. I recently picked up a LG CX48 and my aging 1080Ti struggles at 4k.
I'm hoping I can get both the 5950X and 6900XT on launch day.
I got mine on launch day at MSRP. It was definitely one hell of a purchase. Not impressed with the current prices so it looks like I might be playing the waiting game until Big Navi or just waiting it out another generation which is usually unprecedented for me
I have the CH VIII Hero and my 3900x is OCed all core to 4.5 at 1.325V. The board is amazing with massive vrms that could easily support a high OC on the 3950x if needed. The board is pricey but worth it if you have a custom loop which I do.
So what if a faster card releases? The 1080ti is not going to be obsolete anytime soon. This waiting game is a pointless endeavor especially when there is no concrete evidence that they are going to release it in September. What if September comes around and there is still no sign of new cards...
Don't see the point in waiting unless you have a known launch date. Just get whatever is within your budget and don't look back. Even if the 1180 released in 4 months and is a little faster it's not like your 1080ti would become obsolete. I've had the Ti since launch day and it's an amazing card!
Hardwaremax.net posted a review of the Heatkiller TR4 nickel block. Comfortably took first spot. The EK performs terribly according to their review.
