Depends which durons you're talking about and what time frame. The First durons were great! Faster than P3 and were way cheaper than Athlons.

also remember that the console are worth more that you pay for them. The reason why they aren't that expensive is because they want you to get the consoles. Once you have them, you'll be paying for it by buying games.

if your fan speed supports your motherboard, then try going to 10% of fan speed.

try things like using AGP 4x or 2x, raising timing on the ram, unplug tv tuners and other pci cards, etc
