    Question A Couple Ryzen 5 3400G on X570 Questions

Well, then my CPU was broken, it wasn't detecting the M.2 drive. I have returned it and another arrives today.

    Question A Couple Ryzen 5 3400G on X570 Questions

I had seen that, the problem is that they say 20 lanes (16+4). But AMD says it has 8 lanes for the PCIe slot. So, I know that isn’t right. The question is if the SOC has 12 (8+4) or just the 8.

    Question A Couple Ryzen 5 3400G on X570 Questions

I bought a Ryzen 5 3400G to use in a file server build and hoping to virtualize OPNSense. I am replacing on older one built in a desktop case with a new built in a NAS case (Silverstone CS380). I had originally planned to use the Asrock B450 K4 since it had an additional ASMedia SATA...

    Samsung 256Gbit V-NAND MLC?

Last year on September 22nd Samsung was talking about 256Gbit V-NAND MLC for 4TB 850 Pros and 1TB 950 Pros in 2016. Any word on the progress? When we might be able to get these?

    Z77 SATA AHCI and RAID

I have an Asus P8Z77-V LK motherboard. I am wondering if there is anyway to have both an Intel RAID and have my boot SSD in AHCI mode? The BIOS has one setting of SATA mode for the Z77 chipset SATA for of IDE/AHCI/RAID. So, if the SATA Mode is set to AHCI, can I still run a secondary disk in...

When will we see Skylake E?

I believe the last roadmap I saw said Q4 for Broadwell-E. I don't think you will see a Skylake-E until the end of 2016.

    Intel Skylake / Kaby Lake

It will be interesting to see which of the memory manufactures first decides to make DDR4 non-ECC DIMMs that are larger than 8GB. Once that happens, I am guessing the others will be will feel compelled to do it as well.

    Intel Skylake / Kaby Lake

While it did take Intel that long to release it, my understanding was it was more of a project because Broadwell was slipping. They only really worked on it for 6 months. Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8227/devils-canyon-review-intel-core-i7-4790k-and-i5-4690k/6 Third paragraph on...

    Intel Skylake / Kaby Lake

From the last roadmap I saw, Broadwell-E is still planned. But, it seems like Intel has a new roadmap every few days, right now. ;-)

    Intel Skylake / Kaby Lake

My (admittedly tenuous) understanding is that the DDR3L memory will be required to have the UniDIMM form factor to work with skylake. I don't know if anyone will produce some sort of adapter letting you use standard DDR3L DIMMS with it or not. Anyway, I wouldn't get too much hope of getting to...

Broadwell to Skylake, will be similar to the transition from Prescott to Conroe

If Intel is trying to confuse their competition, I expect they are doing very well at that. Unfortunately, they are also sending signals that are confusing to both consumers and stockholders. Which in the long run may well hurt them.

    Intel Broadwell Thread

The people who see these chips as a "bone" won't be the ones overclocking. They are more interested in power saving, than performance. I must admit I don't really understand why these "C" CPUs are being released. My only guess is that some OEMs and/or System Integrators wanted them. Maybe we...
