Sigh. I'm an idiot. The cat5 cable actually isn't running upstairs, I just needed to pull it out. Oy vey.

I'm wanting to install an ethernet wall plate on the main level of my house. The problem is the cable running through this box in the wall is being used upstairs. The Cat5E cable is the thinner one. Is it possible to somehow "split" this cable in the wall? As in, cut it, install it into a wall...
