The onboard sound is extremely decent. I actually like it more than than the soundblaster 5.1 I was using. Plus the Soundblater is so freakin' invasive. Also it's a lot easier to install. give it a try.

those instructions were for the unlocked. to change the multiplier your cpu must be unlocked. i unlocked mine with the rear window de-fogger kit from autozone. it's pretty easy, just take your time.
