DPC latency issues as of the last few weeks ...lots of them!

Oh, I don't really need it I guess; I always do prefer going native but there was a thought process at the time. Still, the Marvell controller was only a small issue; the Intel NIC driver was the biggest problem. ...and yes, I do disable what I don't need/use. Still, I ought to send a bug...

DPC latency issues as of the last few weeks ...lots of them!

Rhonda the Sky said it perfectly. Quoting the site, "Windows 8 Compatibility: The DPC latency utility runs on Windows 8 but does not show correct values. The output suggests that the Windows 8 kernel performs badly and introduces a constant latency of one millisecond, which is not the case in...

DPC latency issues as of the last few weeks ...lots of them!

Thank you for mentioning this! Well, in all honesty, I was confused, as LatencyMon looked rather clean after moving to the Realtek NIC. I've moved everything from the Marvell SATA 3 controller off to the on-board [Intel chipset] SATA 2 connectors. The Vertex 2 is a SATA 2 drive anyway and...

DPC latency issues as of the last few weeks ...lots of them!

So, this is interesting. I played around with disabling lots and lots of NIC drivers, rather than purely relying on disabling things on the hardware level and I encountered this: The Realtek NIC doesn't have the spikes but the Intel one does, even if I leave the driver enabled for the Intel...

DPC latency issues as of the last few weeks ...lots of them!

I disabled both of the NICs on the hardware level as well; I should've mentioned that before. The issue was still precisely the same. It all seems to be occurring at the driver level. I blame Windows. I'm waiting for the day when I can happily move to Linux, given how much of a *nix fan I...

DPC latency issues as of the last few weeks ...lots of them!

Yeah, I got around to that not long after posting ...and with no luck. I removed every USB device -- nothing changed. Older nVidia drivers don't seem to be an issue, at least the ones of recent times; and I can't really afford to be using older ones due to game-specific driver releases.

DPC latency issues as of the last few weeks ...lots of them!

Thanks. Well, I always keep things updated -- everything; browsers, the OS, general applications, media players, video filter plugins, drivers (including NICs and chipset drivers). It's just that, compared to most searches I've performed, I have many more system components with high latencies.

DPC latency issues as of the last few weeks ...lots of them!

Hi, guys, Over the past few weeks, I've had several people complain about me sounding like a 'robot' at times during calls on a TS3 server. At first I thought that since it hadn't really appeared elsewhere that it wasn't me. So, last night, I decided to check my DPC latency and noticed this...

    Start up cost for WC?

Well, I've done everything with a 2500K [SAB] With the CPU alone, just over £200 at minimum (for my setup). With a large rad and the pump power necessary, as well as the coolant amount, I'd say it'd be safe to call it £350, perhaps up to £400. That would be all the WCing parts: [Radiator(s)...

URGENT - Got my WC loop running; but why are my temperatures so high?!!!!

I'm not a newbie... I just made a silly mistake! :P. I more-or-less had a geeky hysteria moment for a long while. Anyhow, I'll be re-doing most of it when that new back for the res. comes. I don't have any gushing sounds - DC-LT pumps - just whines with one (quite quiet though...) and the other...

URGENT - Got my WC loop running; but why are my temperatures so high?!!!!

Let's say I found another plastic, protective layer for the waterblock when I took it off. ...In other words, I forgot to take it off in the first place, as I was so keen to keep it protected. Anyhow, the temps still aren't what they should be, I can't get the air out. It sits in the top of the...

URGENT - Got my WC loop running; but why are my temperatures so high?!!!!

Okay, temps. sorted [I did something really stupid] mostly... However, the noise isn't. A re-designed back for the reservoir should be arriving in about one week - well, that's what the retailer told me! :)

URGENT - Got my WC loop running; but why are my temperatures so high?!!!!

The guy from the retailer [12 years of WCing experience] said I put the block on incorrectly and it likely was barely touching. Also, the grinding/rumbling sound - he said there's a new part for that, that he'll send [for free, of course]. I'm a bit annoyed that I need to immediately drain my...

URGENT - Got my WC loop running; but why are my temperatures so high?!!!!

I couldn't have got it mixed up. #1) People on forums have shown the res/pump direction - Inlet/Outlet. #2) The Phobya block has Inlet and Outlet symbols.

URGENT - Got my WC loop running; but why are my temperatures so high?!!!!

Well, I took off the block and there was only a little thermal compound/paste. I put on my Dark Rock Advanced C1 for now, but I am still getting a lot higher temps. than I used to. That Phobya compound isn't doing well. I'll borrow some Noctua compound I used for my step-brothers' computers...
