That was a handy pointer to the xtremesystems site. I think what I am looking at getting advice now is my final selection for a water cooled system bearing in mind I've never set one up before. This is my premise then:
Loop requirements: Two seperate loops, one for GPU cooling and one for CPU...
I will concede it is pretty crazy though cost motivated. Let's say I just had an unexpected windfall from work for awesomeness!!! And that now water cooling the gpu was possible.
Say I'd like to go with a full nickel EK supreme hf what else would I need to fill out the loop. Say we are going...
Ah cheers for the advice on the QDC, gotta say building this thing is going to be a challenge but a great project.
With the FTO2 yeah it was mainly to do with the blue ray drive but I also continued to be uncomfortable with the potential heat output and the size of the air cooled GTX's.
That's...
I had a look at the QDC's you recommended and saw they have model VL4N-F13-19S which has a 1/2" ID matching my hose type. Just trying to find a UK supplier with stock.
Had a good read of some other threads and looks like it'd be better to get the Koolance RP-452X2 Res due to superior build...
Ok so I've had another think on this and realised my build is going to have serious issues with fitting due to the case constraints. And tbh I'm still concerned about heat so I've gone back to looking at a water build and stripped my initial design back to fall slightly over my budget but...
Cheers guys, the actual build which I have now finalised is:
Case: Silverstone Fortress FT02B v1.4
Mainboard: Asus Maximus IV Extreme Rev.3.0
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K
Heatsink: Corsair Hydro Series H70 (Replace stock fans with 2 x Gentle Typhoon 1850RPM)
GPU: 2 x EVGA GTX580 SLI
PSU: AX1200...
Hi,
I've been agonising for months over my new build whilst continuing to use my rapidly dying LGA775 system (beyond saving!).
Anyway it comes down to the GPU solution for high end gaming and when I drill down it is all about noise and cooling.
I've got two options:
TJ07 with SLI Hydro...
Hi,
My brother has entered a photo competition on facebook and really needs help gaining votes to win it. He's made it to number 4 but is still lagging behind.
Would really appreciate it if anyone at all is able to help as every vote counts for him. You just have to like his photo kristaan...
Yeah the P67 Sabertooth I've already opted for as the board of choice with a 50mm fan for downdraft on the thermal armour. Just musing really over X58's and how the choice was so much clearer.
Well I am convinced of getting an Asus Soundcard now, prob opt for an STX.
One thing really bothering me now is that IMHO P67 board offerings are so inferior to the X58 offerings. I mean X58 I'd opt Saberooth without a shadow of a doubt as it has awesome features, great looks and just superb...
Yeah I'd be the first to admit this is barking mad and way OTT for gaming but ya know magpie and shinies!!!
If I was going to take a straight shot at what the optimal gaming pc would be factoring noise, speed at 1920 x 1080 etc etc I'd say
2500k with Sabertooth Mainboard and 8GB Vengeance RAM...
Cool so dual loop it is, in that case I think I may of started to grasp the concept of water cooling them.
Loop 1 - CPU Black Hose: Bay reservoir 1 == Pump1 == CPU Block == Radiator 1 == reservoir 1
Loop 2 - GPU's Red Hose: Bay reservoir 2 == Pump2 == GPU1 =D Plug= GPU2 == Radiator 2 ==...
Just saw a very good vid by Maxishine with Tri SLI Hydro Copper 2's using Bitspower D Plugs to connect the Blocks together before linking into the hoses. And lo and behold I can't find the matt black fittings in the UK for love nor money via the usual water cooling specialists.
From what I can...
Duh I'm an idiot yeah I forgot about the fact they are slim line. Damn I think you just settled me on the Sabertooth afterall. That actually solves all the spacing problems for me.
And yeah the pc is utter overkill but to a point I'm looking at it as a cool project for me as well in the same...
