I have found that moving to a new AVR with Audyssey (Denon, Onkyo), MCACC (pioneer), or other room eq is just as beneficial as getting lossless playback.

Take a look at Pixel junk monsters (PS store - like 8 bucks, and an expansion for the same price) It basically a co-op tower defense game that is very addicting. My wife and I have sunk quite a few hours into it and even managed a 4th place world ranking on one level. If you are linux...

I have played through the demo twice now. Very good looking, sounding, and above all else fun game. This went from a maybe to an instant pre-order for me. The animations are second to none, and the overall feel is incredible with LPCM 7.1 audio. I am quite impressed :)

Just a quick heads up to those who care - this update gives 5.1 audio support in the XMB, so converted mp4's and such can now be played back in 5.1. Looks like a few hundred GB's of re-encoding for me....

I'd love both HL2 and EP1 if anyone has them to give. Thanks!

Because the shaders can be run faster than the max core clock allows - i.e. there is still room for the shader clock to increase when the max stable core clock is acheived.
