Well it depends on what kind of heatsink you have, but there are little metal clasps that attach themselves to the sides of the socket, there should be a metal clip with a slot for a flathead screwdriver. You put the screwdriver tip into it, press down then outward away from the socket with it...
Back in the days of the slot athlons, the FIC SD11 was one of the first boards out and by far the most stable. FIC is a decent brand although can't say anything about overclocking on one. My SD11 system is still running solid. I think I'd go for this if I had a little cash.
