wish i saw this thread a few days ago i have the gigabyte board too and checking the # of fan hookups was the 1 thing i overlooked.a basic fan contoller for 2 fans is cheap thankfully +1 for gigabyte board(so far so good)

my current setup is almost exactly the same except i have a core2 6850 new intel ssd plus nforce driver headaches made me want to update im tryin to spend 1/3 of your mb/ram/cpu budget and it still seems worth it i'd say do it what resolution is your monitor?

good recommendation on RAM didnt even look at other manufacturers because i've had great luck with corsair good call on those comparison CPU charts, didnt check that design software - Adobe cs package, quark, zbrush and maya/3dmax for a little rendering, illustration stuff. also ms office stuff...
