Best Video Card for my use

I need an answer to this as well. So bump. I use my rig for the Hammer editor (HL2 engine) and gaming, this is with a 30" monitor so as you can imagine my res is 2560xwhatever it goes to (i can never remember). Currently I have a 9800gx2. I am looking to upgrade now, either to the 260...

    Help: screen freezes and BSOD's

I've decided to buy 2 more drives. I'll install WinXP on one of them and then Vista on the other. I've also ordered a power supply tester with PCI-E and SATA connections and an LCD display for more precise readings. I'll also load Bios defaults and then carefully review the settings. Aside from...

Hmm, thing is though as I said in first post I ran memtest overnight with no issues at the voltage its set to, incidentally it is set to auto.

    Help: screen freezes and BSOD's

Hey guys, need your advice. A week and a half ago I started to get occasional screen freeze/bsod - static picture on screen, had to reset - now it's getting worse - last day it happened, screen freezes on both my winXP loading OS screen and on my Vista loading OS screen. I tested RAM...

    CPU and Mobo

Ok, last time I'm saying it. Budget. £1.5k for CPU and mobo £500-£750 HDD's £1k GFX Happily stretch teh budget if I can get great extra performance

    SCSI, SAS, SATA2, SSD ...

Cheers Ruby. Is this any good: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products...sp?WebProductID=554484 (LSI MegaRAID 8308ELP 8 Port SATAII/SAS PCI-E Controller) The prices fluctuate ridiculously, so I'm guessing I don't need something that costs £500+ for just 2 SAS drives?

    CPU and Mobo

£1.5k for mobo and cpu. I've set aside the biggest parts of my budget for the cpu, mobo and gfx. What would you spend it on?

    SCSI, SAS, SATA2, SSD ...

£600 for the HDD's, I can stretch to more, but if I get great speeds with nearer £600 then that is fine. So I do need controllers with 2 of these SAS drives?

    SCSI, SAS, SATA2, SSD ...

How about this: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products...sp?WebProductID=752317 73.4 GB Seagate ST373455SS, Cheetah 15K.5, SAS, 15000 rpm, 16MB, 3.5 ms Will i be able to Raid0 2 of these without an SAS controller? And will it be fast?
  12. C

    SCSI, SAS, SATA2, SSD ...

    Not fast enough. ;)
  13. C

    CPU and Mobo

No I want to spend up to £1.5k, and for the americans, that equates to $3k.

    SCSI, SAS, SATA2, SSD ...

£600 or $1200. So let's hear your words of wisdom wired

    SCSI, SAS, SATA2, SSD ...

So the census so far is to get SAS controller and 2 SATA2's in Raid 0, or 2 SSD in Raid 0. Any more views?
