I Need a mobile desktop Notebook

Dude, you're gonna need to do some more research. the 7950 is a powerful and hot video card that requires a 17" chassis. Stu's suggestions are good. If money is no object get a 17" machine with either a single or dual 7950. For the best compromise in price/performance/size, get a 15" Dell...

    MacBook Pro Prices *Updated*

My university actually sells overstocked original Core Duo MBP's for just $1100. I think that's a damn good deal for a brand new MBP even though it's a CD instead of C2D.

    I hate Apple.

I've always had great service with Apple. The reps have been nice and really responsive. I had to send my 12" PB G4 in and I got it back in 3 days.. overnight shipping both ways for free! iPod service was fast too, always turned around within 4 days.

Buying a MacBook, which option would you go with?

I'd definitely go for the new one with a Nano. Even if you don't need all the capabilities of the Nano, just sell it and the net cost of your MacBook will be ~$900. Not a bad deal at all. Personally I never burn DVD's, the need rarely comes up. Now that flash drives can be had so cheap, and...
