I just put another stick of 128MB RAM in today (256 Total).
My problem is, although Windows seems to run fine, Tribes 2 (which ran okay for several weeks with 128 RAM) now locks up repeatedly within a couple of minutes single or multiplayer.
I've read there are some RAM issues with this mobo...
I recently flashed my bios on my new mobo after reading several online articles and posts stating I would get a significant performance boost by doing so.
As a newbie to this sort of thing (plus, this being is the first computer I ever built) I was a little hesitant. After reading the info...
I've read the info on creating a system disk and a second disk with the flash program and Bios.
After I disable the Bios Protection and reboot with the system disk, I'm in Windows. Do I just run the AMI flash from the dos prompt or do I need to reboot to dos?
Please help, this Bios update...
First, my specs:
Radeon 64mb DDR
Generic CompUSA 17" monitor-supports up to 1024x768 res @ 60Hz
Running in 800x600
900 T-Bird
128 DDR RAM
Win '98 SE
Cable-excellent connection
The Problem:
The screen will randomly lock up or my screen will go black and I get this monitor error...
I'm currently running an Athlon 900MHz T-Bird.
I'm curious as to what the normal temp. ranges are for CPUs in general. The temp. range differ depending on the speed?
Oh...And how hot is too hot?
