I actually just ordered a couple of these. It's worth noting that they seem to keep alternating the prices. It's been jumping back and forth between this price and ~$230 all week, but fairly regularly. So if it jumps back up in price just wait several hours and check again.
You could save money on RAM by going with either of these:

Plus you get better timings. Then maybe just get Home Premium 64 bit (unless you really need the stuff in Ultimate)...
Some online merchants allow you to pay extra for a no dead pixel guarantee. E.g. NCIXUS. I bought a monitor through them without it (since it was on super sale) and luckily everything worked out fine.
Wow. That is an amazing deal, even with the fairly pricey shipping. No dead pixel policy seems to be available, though. I'll call them about it when I get back from work.
Hopefully that's the case.
I bought a Samsung LCD from Best Buy awhile ago - decided I didn't like it for several reasons (including a dead pixel). I just brought it back to the store and they didn't really ask any questions at all. Maybe that's an anomaly?
Yeah, I've only had trouble...
I'm looking to buy a 1920x1200 24" monitor. I play a lot of games, so the BenQ recommended in the LCD thread is really attractive. However, it looks like it's only available online. While I have no problems ordering most hardware online, the 8 dead pixel minimum from NewEgg makes me pretty...
In the comments on this article, someone brought up this issue, too. The author mentioned that they were able to run it fine just using AMD/ATI's default drivers. So it seems, at least for now, that this shouldn't be a concern.
Err, isn't 1440x900 16:10? Wouldn't 1600x900 would be 16:9 (or 1440x810, but I don't think that exists). Anyway, I'm not trying to mix the resolutions, just use the external monitor exclusively.
Basically when using my monitor by itself I have only a few resolution options, and it would be...
Connected via DVI.
Sorry, I don't have the BenQ. I was considering getting it since the Samsung 2443BWX I have doesn't seem to be working.
The issue isn't so much scaling as the lack of resolutions supported. E.g. 1440 x 900 isn't available.
I think it might just be poor...
Okay, so my laptop's LCD is a 1920x1200 native screen. I recently bought a Samsung 2443BWX, also 1920x1200 native. After struggling to make it display 1920x1200 properly, I've now encountered a new issue. Note the video card is a Geforce Go 7950 GTX.
Now, bear with me if this is a general...
I'm thinking about buying a new laptop, and am considering some that only have VGA output. However, my monitor only allows DVI or HDMI input. I know I can buy a cheap adapter to get around this issue, but I'm wondering if image quality will suffer at all (as opposed to a machine that has a...
Would I set the new one up for sharing via the same utility? And should I do it before I search for it with the new one? Perhaps its better to wait until I have the new machine to worry about this so that I can play with it and see if I can get it to work before asking so many questions...
So I'm getting a new notebook soon, and currently have a desktop. I'm wondering what the easiest way to transfer data from my current HDD to the new one.
This is my current drive. An age-old Seagate :).
Is it worth getting something that will allow me to directly connect it to my...
