I ordered it from newegg on 10/7. It's the Sapphire 2gb Dirt 3 edition. Model 100312-3SR. I guess I was expecting the unlock to be more involved than that. I guess I got lucky.
GPU-Z used to show 1408 shaders. After shutting down the pc, flipping the 6950's bios switch and booting up again GPU-Z now shows 1536 shaders. So...I guess they're unlocked? Is there anyway of knowing for sure? I ran 3dmark11 and it did score about 138 points higher with no overclock.
Looks like in the review it's a totally GPU limited situation and they're testing CPU scaling??? Doesn't make much sense to me. Why not take the resolution way down to 640x480, then test the CPU differences? This review doesn't show anything except that if you want to play on all high settings...
I haven't purchased a new case in the last 10 years. Now that I'm looking at some they look very ventilated with lots of fans, yet I see no filters to keep dust out.
So, how do you guys keep the dust out? Have any of you custom made dust filters? I hate dust getting in my case, it clogs up...
