goldgunner -- thanks for responding. I figured out how to get past this. If I have a non-bootable diskette in the USB drive, then the BIOS tries to boot it, but fails. At the failure message, I eject the diskette and press a key. It then boots from the CD, but still sees the diskette as "A:"...
