Why would you prefer XP1 ??? Maybe that is why SpeedStep does not work?
Maybe that is not it, But many things only work after the Service pack 2 update.
I have the Vcore set at 1.387
Well then, SpeedStep is for you. I OC with it. But, when I am running a low load the MHz and Vcore go down. It changes my CPU from 9x to 6x. It is supposed to be a CPU feature Why use the power when you don't need it?

I have done it many times with this board. I keep my computer on all the time. But, when I do re boot, The first thing I do is check that. It is a P5B problem. But all you have to do is re-set it.
It happens more if you don't have you PCI X set at 100V. Sometimes when it happens you get 3...
I keep FSB termination , NB , SB at default.
I solve the problem by setting the bios to optimum settings, re-boot. CPU-z will report 16x.
I reboot again and set the bios to my custom settings.
