I doubt this too. When it rains it pours for sure, and they are in big trouble with the problems with their mobile and possibly other chips.
The only way I see nVidia dropping chipsets is if they go bankrupt or are bought out by another company. Both scenarios I doubt (but is possible...
I can see this as some sort of 'ROG" or DQ6 feature, but not on mainstream motherboards.
Perhaps a card with an ultra cheap CPU and 512mb of ram to do a BIOS update or recovery. The card could plug into a PCI-E slot and would only be plugged in while troubleshooting. This would most likely...
@keeper: Try turning off the power saving features in your bios. The updated bioses had new cpus added, and "updated DES" which indicates the issue was with their power saving technology.
I was getting solid spikes in the 2000 range with the F3 bios on my DS3P.
Just updated to the final F4 bios posted on the 18th and my latency is solid around 50, with a few spikes in the 400 range if I am scrolling, loading stuff, etc which is completely normal.
Glad to see this has been...
I too am waiting...really looking forward to it as everyone in all the forums are quoting the tweaktown article as the definitive answer to this question.
The internets are waiting Mr. Key!
Yeah I would stay away from those Gigabyte boards until they fix the dpc issue (they keep firing off beta bioses but don't seem to have the guts to call a bios final and post on the website). Since the issue has been around for a while, I doubt they will fix it
I haven't heard of these issues with the Asus boards in particular (however many boards will have some issues with 4 sticks of ram from many manufacturers). My DS3P has been excellent (booted up right away, OC first try using no extra volts, rock solid), but I do have some issues when creating...
Bought my EP35-DS3P about 2 months ago and ran into the latency issue and I am tired of waiting for a proper fix so I will be moving to a new motherboard.
My current setup is in my sig, but I was going to swap in the Asus Rampage Formula. Does anybody see a potential problem? Anyone have a...
Well I want to overclock and I hear that this beta bios affects overclocking ability (ie voltage settings). To be honest I haven't tried the beta so it might be fine for me but I don't feel comfortable using a bios that Gigabyte doesn't have the ball$ to call final and post for all to use. I had...
I am hoping that they have some more time as well. Blazer all those factors you mention are valid and I touched on a few of them but I still should not get left with a new board that has an issue that seems to have an easy fix (if simply re-using older code fixed the issue for many). I can wait...
I am kinda worried about this right now myself. At first I was thinking that this issue will be fixed in no time, with some seeming 'older code' fixing the issue in many cases (bringing other issues though, it seems). Seems to be taking a long time for Gigabyte to issue a non-beta fix for this...
Hillary Clinton is doing to the Democrats what Paul Martin (ex, Canadian Prime Minister) did to his party, the Liberals.
The Liberal Party was in a great place where the voters mistrusted the alternative parties and they enjoyed relatively easy elections...then, the head of the party (then...
