Looks like they allow a direct hookup with a lot of portable mp3 or mini disk players & even radios though the line level or headphone out socket!

I cruised the Apple forums & found a couple of reports that The Adaptec FireConnect 4300 works with various models of iPods! However, it must be *charged*. I imagine that goes for Video Cams also.

The User Guide does not specify the card's chipset. [Be aware that not all chips work reliably with iPods. Adaptec uses Nec's, TI, etc...
