well... since this only happens when in outlook or when browsing the web... it might be a problem with your modem or network card...
what kind of internet connection do you have?
I know this may sound weird... but once I had a user that could not Telnet to our UNIX server... I moved earth and sky untill I changed her IP address and afterthat everything worked fine...
hmmm... try searching for vnetbios.vxd in the registry and deleting the threads
I'd recommnd backip up the registry first though
you might have to reinstall network components after that
The bios info on those old junk is on a partition on the hd if I remember
If you repartitionned the HD and deleted it, you can't change anything without the system disks from compaq
the drive will die sooner or later... better do at least a good backup of it if you don't intend on sencing it in RMA now
I had a drive at work that did that and it took 4 months for it to die
Thanks for the help...
I tried just about every jumper settings...
My ide cable is also a cable that came with the board...
I was just wondering if someone knew if there was a way to change settings on the drive itself.. a jumper or something... it is afterall a 40X CD
Hi,
Anyone knows how to make a compaq CD-rom work in a non-compaq system?
I got an Abit BH6 and I tried just about every jumper setting and no use. But if the drive is plugged with the hd and both are set to master, they still conflict...
Please help!
