Thanks, i appricate the help... the problem is ive tried it in both drives my cd burner and my dvd burner... my next step is to just take the dang thing apart and put it all back together... hopefully it works one more thing... if i leave the CD of windows 2000 inside the cdrom drive it will...

I just did a fresh reformat and installation of windows 2000 pro SP3 and it allows me install everything and when i bootup for the first time i get this error message that says... "Windows 2000 missing or corrupt: <windows 2000 root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe please reinstall a copy of the above...

from now on ill post the VERBATIM error message, now ive got two things to fix...

I'm having some errors in Windows 2000 pro SP4 occasionally I will get the error message when im installing something that says something to this effect "Ikernal in use by another program" "or cannot locate Ikernal" well the software will install it self anyways and most of the stuff does work...
