W7 policy/permissions question - WLAN for basic user

Hi all, I'm hoping the Security subforum is the correct place to post this. I have a mobile user who's been issued a company laptop and set up with a basic user account and a rather expansive list of restrictions due to prior cases of misuse. It turns out this user does legitimately need...

    Cooling a Phenom 9850BE

I have a rig running a Phenom 9850 Black Edition, currently cooled by an ACALP64 heatsink/fan. The device worked great on the Athlon64 X2 3400 that I had in the box before the upgrade but the Phenom is getting quite a bit toastier and I'm hoping to put some heavier-duty cooling on it. I'd...

Hi all, Thanks, first, to everyone who answered my VoIP question last week. Looks like I had the bar set kinda high on that one. Now, on to my question: I've been looking at building a low-power file server for a while now but am concerned about yet another system contributing to the electric...

    Self-contained, free videoconferencing solution?

Hi everyone, First-time poster here looking for some VoIP/video advice. Basically I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to build a videoconferencing system that's self-contained (i.e. no external company's server involved, 100% my own equipment) and free so I can set up video calls: -From...
