Simple indeed. Had a group in an OU that the GPO was tied to, but didn't have the user that's in the group in the OU. Moved user account into the OU and it works like a charm. It's the obvious stuff that bites me in the butt sometimes.
Funny you mention that, I just got our DNS straightened out last month. If not for the fact that the only DNS related entries in the logs are that it starts when the server reboots, I'd believe you. But what was your issue when you dealt with it?
I'm sure it's something simple, though...
Trying to get my My Docs folder redirected to a folder on the Server 2k3 box that hosts our AD for the purposes of making sure that it works (we can't afford a test environment, please leave it at that). I set the group policy up as per MS's directions and created a root directory on the...
I've tried pretty much everything that Microsoft or anyone on any other board has suggested for this particular problem, and nothing's worked. Tried running the repair console from XP startup/setup floppies and it didn't do the trick. I ordered an external enclosure for the drive and it should...
Good Lord, I didn't say anything in my first post. Sorry about that. Safe mode hangs when it's trying to load the aforementioned agpcpq.sys. Sits there for a few seconds and then restarts all over again. Last known good config doesn't work either. I've tried to get into it through the...
I guess I didn't make it clear, but the system is hanging on boot. No XP, no nothin'. Therefore, a device like this is useless to me. I need to just suck the data off of the drive without getting into Windows to do it. Or, I need to find a fix for the problem to begin with.
A fine idea if it's something that Wal-Mart has. The closest electronics retailer is 3 hours away from me. I'll check around and see what I can find, though. I'll go ahead and show off my ignorance, though: is this something that will pull data from the HD without having to go through Windows...
I've done some research into the problem already and it seems that the only step anyone has taken that worked is to update BIOS, which I did to no avail. IBM doesn't send out O/S install CDs and I don't have media for XP Pro on hand. Is there a way to boot into Windows without starting a...
Well, tried this over the weekend and it didn't work so well in that the server's configured with a logical drive that spans all three physical hard disks. The cloning worked great, but after I cloned the C: partition and moved it to another drive, Windows started rebuilding a drive. All the...
I have three drives on my lonely little server and one has some configuration issues that can pretty much only be fixed by wiping the drive and starting over. Of course, it's the drive that C: is on, and all of the wonderful Windows toys like AD and DHCP are there too. I don't want to rebuild...
