Is it possible for developers to optimize the game so well that these hitches don't happen? Any examples of UE3 based games that are super well optimized?
I have a i7 3770k/GTX 680/WD Caviar Black 1 TB/Samsung 840 Pro SSD/Corsair Vengeance RAM (1600 MHz).
I was playing Mirror's Edge and I noticed that there were very brief periods where the framerate would dip from 60 to as low as 55. These dips occurred when a new area of the level was...
I have a GTX 680 and am using EVGA Precision X to monitor. Just browsing the net, the clock speed stays at 324 MHz. When I play a Youtube video or any flash video, the clock speed boosts up to my stock clock of 1058 MHz. Is this normal?
I increased the base clock in my BIOS from 100 to 100.1. I've read that increasing the base clock can damage anything in the PCI-E slots. Could this small adjustment damage the GPU?
I've already installed Windows 7 onto my SSD. Unfortunately, my motherboard is having boot loop problems. Since I'm still within my return period to Microcenter, I will be returning the motherboard/cpu combo I purchased.
My questions are:
1) Will I have to contact Microsoft about...
When I go to low on the voltage I get a variety of BSODs. One I just got said Bad Pool Header. What is your CPU core voltage. Do you use the DVID offset or a fixed voltage? Thanks!
I am using a 3770K with a Gigabyte GA-Z77X UD5H and Noctua NH-D14. My goal is to run a 24/7 stable overclock at 4.5 GHz. I will be using C1E to allow the CPU to downclock when 4.5 is not needed. These are my BIOS settings.

I have the Corsair Obsidian 650D. The front panel USB 3.0 ports use a passthrough that plugs in the I/O on the motherboard. I would like to avoid using the passthrough method. My Gigabyte motherboard came with a USB 3.0 3.5" front bay bracket. This plugs directly into the USB 3.0 front...
I am ordering parts for a new gaming PC. I can't reach a consensus on which Z77 ATX motherboard to get. My parts are:
CPU: i7 3770k
GPU: MSI GTX 680 2GB/OC Twin Frozr III
MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance 8GB
OPTICAL DRIVE: Asus 24x DVD Burner
HARD DRIVE: Western Digital WD1002FAEX 1TB...
BrightCandle, one more question. Have you played Far Cry 3 yet? I've heard horror stories about the stuttering present when enabling vysnc. Do you happen to know if this is a game issue not specific to the GTX 6XX series?
So bottom line is, it's normal and you guys experience it too? The reason I ask is because there was a 130 page on the Nvidia forums detailing an issue about vsync stuttering with the GTX 6xx series of cards. Apparently it was fixed late last year, but I just want to make sure this behavior...
I run all my games with vsync enabled. When I have the Fraps FPS counter enabled, the framerate very rapidly switches between 59/60 and occasionally up to 61. Sometimes it stays locked at 60 other times these rapid switches occur.
Is this something that is just inherent to vsync (i.e...
