Hopefully someone else will offer another adapter, a little competition could bring the price down, but this is a end of the road solution for BX chipsets. An Asus TUS mobo for another $30 sounds like a much better deal for now, just a little more work than dropping in a new CPU.

I e-mailed powerleap and found that the sell the adapter for $69 without the CPU.

SharkB8- When you flashed the bios did you use the 1008.004 file? If I remember right, the Award flash program asks for a 100x.awd file. I found this same beta bios but I'am not sure how to flash it since it seems to be a different type of file.

Did you use the 1007.001 file or a .awd file?

I also would like to know the answer, it seems that it would be very risky to try anything without an explaination.

I just found the 1008.004 beta bios upgrade for my P3-BF, however the Award flash utility calls for upgrade files with the .awd extention, the betas are .003 .004 etc... Do these get renamed or what?

1156 with a geforce sdr and celeron 466@525 and 128mb ram

I ran this firware upgrade last week without a hitch, Win98SE, TDK as master on IDE secondary. Also I left the DMA enabled. Checked DAE and did see some improvement. Nero reports as 1.07.

I should have searched first, sorry in a rush, from what I can see they are the same and TDK even supplies thier "own" 1.07 firmware. On my way to B&M before this one disappears! Thanks

My CompUSA B&M just called and offered this drive as a substitute for the Iomega. If it is the same drive can I use the same firmware upgrade thats being used for the Iomega?

While I tried to do everything possible to get one of these drives, CompUSA has been completely irresponsible in their efforts. I was first in line at the N.O. Ohio store when they opened on Sun.. I was told they had Zero in stock but would take the names of the first five people and a shipment...
