I got this drive and so far I'm happy with it. I haven't had any luck w/ PS2 backups on Princo's, but bought some Memorex dvd-r's and they work fine. Haven't tried hd-burn yet, but I bought this drive mostly for dvd's anyway.

I actually just bought the Optorite and was also looking at that NEC drive. The thing that swayed me towards the Opto was the one year warranty. From what I've read, NEC doesn't seem to warranty the 1300's since they are OEM. But...I could be wrong about that.

Has anybody bought from Noble Computers before?

Not to thread crap, but I bought this a while back from BestBuy and haven't been that happy with it. For one, it doesn't play any CD's any more. They spin, and then the CD player acts like there is no disc in it. And I had sound problems with it too, there was no consistency, some discs were...
