This is something i'm very interested in but don't know where to start. Complete noob here.... any good guides that show how to setup your environment etc?
I don't think SLI is worth it. Im not going to spend money on another card right now. And later on i will probably just want to upgrade as opposed to buying another card. Even know to 7950 gx2 wouldn't be as good as a single newer card.
I'm thinking EVGA for the video card because they...
By lots of option i meant on board options (hardware configuration and bios). I dont need on board video since it's always crap.
I have a dfi board and there are tons of settings i had to research before i could get it in a stable mode. that's why i would like something fairly popular with...
I don't want to skimp on the motherboard since it's the most important piece of the whole operation. It will determine all the components i can add on down the line.
I'd probably go for more ram...(or at least just 1 stick of 4gb if thats possible).
Quad core is a must!:)
Video card...
This will be mostly used for gaming but would like something with lots of options. I'm thinking intel (they seem to be ahead in the game) however i'd be open to AMD if the price/performance ratio is high.
Let me know what you guys suggest. It would also be nice if they board had a fairly...
Doesn't look like it's worth the money. Too bad I have a 7950 gx2..... sooo close to 8 series.... I guess i'll have to wait until it gives up then EVGA can send me a newer 8 series card.
Anyone know of any benchmarks of secondary cards with a decent card? ie. like a 8800 vanilla with a 9800 gt as a primary? Does this work for all motherboards?or only certain ones?
Any model 8 series cards?
Where can i find more information about this?
Hey guys, a buddy of mine mentioned that it's possible to use a second graphics card (doesn't have to be the same make or model) as a physics processor. Anyone heard of this? If it exists what is required to run it.
worth a shot... It's been a while since i've oc'd my machine.. i think i can get up to 2.5ghz from 2.0.... video card oc was pretty weak from what i remember.
For sure i agree with you all. this is the painful part (for my wallet) and fun part (for me). Any recommendations in terms of best bang for my buck? (i don't want to hemorrhage cash for best of the best).
Yeah... I know my 939 is the killer in all this. I'm not even sure where to start in this whole upgrade process. All i know is that I will need to replace at least my mobo, cpu, ram and video card. but i need a combination that will work well for gaming.
Hey guys... it's a been a while since i have been on here. When i was purchasing my current pc back in 2005 this forum was beyond anything out on the net in terms of help.
My current system is aging (GTA4 @10fps just isn't fun)
I've got a 7950gx2 in my machine but my CPU is a AMD64 3200+...
