    Question RAID 1 challenges on 2x 2TB Samsung 870 EVO on M5A97 R2.0

What's non-stellar about the 870 EVO's? I've certainly seen that they received much better reliability ratings than the QVO's or most non-Samsung SSD's from a write performance perspective. Prior to moving to SSD, I had dual 3TB HDD's mirrored on the same motherboard, with no significant...

    Question RAID 1 challenges on 2x 2TB Samsung 870 EVO on M5A97 R2.0

I've recently updated my data drives on my Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard to use two 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SATA SSD's (connected to port 2 and port 4). I set them up as RAID1 using the onboard AMD RAIDXpert utility (Ports 1-4 manage RAID devices, with port 5/6 being non-RAID). My OS/boot drive is a...

    Asus A8V Suspend Question

Well, you were correct. After RMA'ing my DOA GeForce 6800 GT and getting one that works, I installed the appropriate drivers, and Poof! Suspend/Hibernate works. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm sure I'd have figured it out once I installed the specific drivers.

    Asus A8V Suspend Question

Well, you may very well have hit the nail on the head. When I built the machine, I ordered a GeForce 6800, which arrived DOA. I threw in an older AGP Matrox card, but didn't install the drivers for it, since I didn't want to muck up the install. Thusly, I'm running in VGA mode right now...

    Asus A8V SATA setup problems

I just went thru this as well. The trick I found is that my BIOS had to have the Promise controller in RAID mode, and then I had to use the Promise RAID drivers off of the Motherboard CD. It's a bit deceiving as there is a Promise IDE and a Promise RAID driver, and depending upon the BIOS...

    Asus A8V Suspend Question

Yesterday I installed my new Asus A8V Deluxe MB, and made sure that suspend, etc. was enabled in the BIOS. Then, after installing Windows XP, I noticed I was unable to use Suspend and/or Hibernate mode on my desktop. I installed SP2, hoping that things would get better, but outcome was...

Digital Hinote Ultra 2000 Laptop issues

Well, amazingly, I managed to find procedures on the web to remove the supervisor password. It required disassembling basically the whole laptop down to the motherboard, soldering a couple of wires onto the EEPROM chip, reassembling, shorting wires while powering up laptop, disassemble...

Digital Hinote Ultra 2000 Laptop issues

I'm trying to set up a donated Digital HiNote Ultra 2000 laptop for use running Windows 98. The unfortunate problem is that I received the laptop as a donation from a corporate wholesale, but this laptop has the Supervisor password set in the BIOS. I've googled all that I can think of, but...
