Dell Ultrasharp 2001FP - 1 blue subpixels off
pretty surprisingly good, but I don't like the monitor (the so-called "graininess" issue really bugs me). going to try to return it and buy a samsung 213t
I'm with Slayer - I just got thismonitor and I know everyone who doesn't like it says "grainy" but it's more like shimmery. I just saw the samsung 213t in action, and it's got just as much of what I would call "graininess" - i.e. black around each pixel, but the samsung is easy on the eyes and...
it is a shared host. I didn't know if it was typical to be able to install custom tags in cfroot on a shared server. I know they use at least 2 commercial tags. There are a lot of custom tags that they did in house, but so far most of them look like they are not compiled, so I should be able...
I am the new developer replacing the old developers for a coldfusion (4.5?) / sql server (2000) website
The client is worried that the old developers will sabotage the site when they learn they are being canned. Neither of us are sure whether this is a realistic concern.
I currently have...
I keep thinking the fact that both devices on secondary ide failed at the same time is significant - but I'm not sure what that clue says. (They are also on the same power lines coming out of the PS, if that matters.)
One other thing - In this old building there are occasional times where the...
I've had repeated problems with IDE devices failing over the last couple of years. Now my new WD250 and pioreer DVD a06 are acting up. the WD making clicks, and now I just got that windows message that i had unplugged them both (which I had not). They are both currently getting power, but...

thanks a lot
I think they'd be willing to pay around $250/month, especially if there was a real advantage.
This came up with another client once, and the host sold us a dedicated DB server with shared web server. I was never convinced that there was any real benefit to that.
My new client expects to be the target of lots of hacker attacks, and they are looking fo a new host.
What advice can anyone give me about selecting a host and a package. their bandwidth won't justify a dedicated server.
thanks
I have had bad luck with both firewire and regular IDE enclosures - it seems like in both cases the little board on the enclosures failed - simulating a very frightening HD failure. removing the enclosures solved the problems both times, so I won't be using external drives anymore
as for...
