    help: Win2k3 SP1 SMB file copies slow

    Thanks for the suggestion, but it is not at the physical layer nor the data link layer (I did double check). The FTP test demonstrates that I have full speed all the way up to layer 7. I can get high throughput - sustained - passing tcp packets back and forth with iperf as well. What I am...

    Thanks for the suggestion, but that's not it. Already disabled. The server is a standalone server, not a DC and not running AD.

    help: Win2k3 SP1 SMB file copies slow

    On my file server (P4 2.4GHz, 1.12GB RAM, gigabit NIC), I recently upgraded to SP1 and added another drive array. Afterwards, I noticed that my SMB file copies (from a high speed XP client) fluctuate between expected speed and really slow speed. For about 10 seconds, it'll burn along at...

    WindowsXP 64bit Edition: Drivers, Release Candidates, and Availability, Part 2...

    It does not support 16-bit applications. Current installers are 32-bit, but there are older apps which have 16-bit installers which won't install, or you'll have to manually set them up.

    WindowsXP 64bit Edition: Drivers, Release Candidates, and Availability, Part 2...

    I'm using a first tier AV on RC2 and RC1 behind it. Works very well, but can't say much due to unannounced nature of the product.

    RC2 is looking solid. Most of my hardware (unexceptional other than the motherboard - dual xeon supermicro x6dal-g) had in box drivers.

    ~~~~ Rebate Tracking Thread -- Updated 1-3-03 ~~~~
    I am victorious over TCA! On my Antec $20 rebate from outpost from one year ago this month, I sent the stuff in dutifully and waited. After a few months with no response, I checked on the state of the rebate at their site. TCA refused my rebate because it was outside of the rebate period...
    Norton Antivirus 2003: ccapp.exe hangs during shutdown . . . suggestions?
    Actually, I mispoke. Although my group (which owns Common Client) provided the fix for the directx issue, it will be appearing in the NIS update, not the common client update.
    Norton Antivirus 2003: ccapp.exe hangs during shutdown . . . suggestions?
    The first of the updates is available (for common components). It should, among other things, address the directx issue.
    Norton Antivirus 2003: ccapp.exe hangs during shutdown . . . suggestions?
    >> I am trying to get Speed Disk to run a defrag before windows boots up. I am running win 2k and just like you can get disk doctor to do its checking before windows loads, i want to defragment at boot up, in that fun text mode. it would be really cool if you could show me how to do this...
    Norton Antivirus 2003: ccapp.exe hangs during shutdown . . . suggestions?
    There are updates in the works for SymEvent (to 11.1.0.7), Norton Antivirus (to 9.05 I think), Norton Personal Firewall (6.03), and Norton Internet Security (6.03). I do not like to quote dates because we won't ship them until they are ready, but I will say that we are close on them. I do not...
    Norton Antivirus 2003: ccapp.exe hangs during shutdown . . . suggestions?
    mikable, was your ccapp / directx conflict with NAV, or with NIS or NPF? We do have a fix for a NIS/NPF "Alert Tracker" related problem pending release in a liveupdate, but it is not in NAV. ccApp hosts a number of different services, so it is difficult to generalize with it. Tarobap, what...
    norton 2003 firewall and anandtech forum (fusetalk 3.1)
    If you bought 2002, you can get $30 off from the symantec online store. I don't know if you'll be able to find it cheaper from an online vendor or in the store though, you frequently can.
