I have a 4g4a+ and run a 1.8A @ 2.4, super stable so far, haven't tweaked the voltages or anything. The only problem so far is that my Promise Ultra100 IDE card is not getting recognized. I have installed and re-installed the drivers but it's not showing up. I haven't exhaustively tested it as...
A word of warning for those of you trying to load cheap DDR memory on this EPoX board: it won't work. I paid only $125 (shipped) for 512 MB of DDR333 housebrand of AIB memory but no matter what I tried the mobo wouldn't even post. I put some Corsair memory in it and it boots right away. I now...
I got my 4G4A+ to boot by replacing BuyAIB budget memory with Corsair PC3000. 256 for about the same price at 512 but at least the damn thing boots now.
First Win2K blue screened with a 'stop' error complaining that the boot device could not be read. Of course it was just reading from it. I...
EPoX got back to me, here's what they said:
Dear User,
Both the "C1" error and the beep code that you are receiving indicate a
possible memory problem. Please try reseating the memory, also try
testing the memory in each of the dimm slots on the motherboard. If the
problems persists, please...
I forgot to ask, I have a stick of PC133 SDRAM, could I try this instead to rule out the mobo/CPU? I seem to recall the 845G chipset is compatible with regular SDRAM but I'm not sure.
Thanks,
Bump
Thanks for the replies guys.
I did clear the CMOS actually but I only held the jumper in place for a few seconds. I don't think the 'manual' says how long you should do that.
As far as the memory stick goes, this is BuyAIB house brand. Not the most reputable brand but I figured that I'm not...
After reading mostly positive reviews of the 4G4A+ I got one today and eagerly installed a retail Intel 1.8A (Malay) and 512 MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM. At first I also put in my GF4 and a Promise IDE controller as I could otherwise not enable all my drives (don't want to use the Highpoint yet).
So I...
Hey,
I've been reading these forums for a few days but I'm still terribly confused with this whole over clocking thing. I'm currently running a P3-700/100 at 933/133 so that was easy. Just change the FSB, up the voltage and voila, faster processor, faster memory (I use CAS2 PC133).
But now...
Hey,
what about memory speed on that Epox board? Some vendor (Gogo city I think) listed the memory speed as PC2100. I'd like to run PC2700 instead. Does this board support it?
I intend to get a 1.8 GHz Northwood and set the FSB to 533.
thanks,
Bump
