ChefJoe, I have never had a drive die either, but there is always a first time :frown: I am thinking of building a file server to centralize my storage of music, videos, etc. and I want to minimize my chances of having one of those file server drives die on me.

Is it fair to say that "heat" is the primary cause of failure in hard-drives? If that is true, does putting a cooling fan in front of the hard drive section in the case help in mitigating this risk? How much does this really help hard drive cooling -- a lot; somewhat; not much?

I have the G3. I got it instead of the G2 because I thought that the extra features were worth the price. This camera kicks ass! I also got the 420ex flash with it. I have shot more good photos with this camera in 6 months than I did with my Canon Elan II in three years. Get it pronto!! :D
