Could anyone tell me what steps to take to successfully configure two HDs as a RAID 0 startup drive? My room-mate is futzing with the bios right now but we really don't know what we are doing since I'm a MACfanboy and my roommate is a total noob!
Quartz Extreme is nice but completely unnecessary. It doesn't give you all that much of a boost, and probably no boost for most tasks. But a Mac that old and an All-in-one unit at that will have many limitations to performance and expansion. I'm almost positive that OS X does not support that...
Yea roommate's off at work. But he won't trust me to protect his PC. I told him the things you guys are saying because I've heard these things before on Anandtech. He's a noob that thinks he knows everything.

It's not connected to the cable modem yet? Will it be risky to connect it and play CS as long as I don't surf the web or do email?
My roommate's comp has a fresh XP install and I want to play Counter Strike. No hardware fire wall, and I don't think it's even got SP1, no AV. He won't let mess with it other than to play Games and surf. He won't be home to fix it for hours and I'm bored silly. How risky is it?
The SATA is visible in bios. But I don't really know what I'm talking about. We don't even have a floppy on the machine, maybe could borrow one. The Raptor came with no CD and no Floppy, sealed new in packaging.
Installing XP on a PC with SATA HD.
Friend brought home a fast 40Gb SATA drive, plugged it into the onboard connector of his mobo (ECS Eliregroup 755-A2). Windows setup starts to run through its paces and then stops at a screen telling us that no hard drives are available, check the...
