TBH the majority of last gen(360/PS3) games were 720p, a few big games (call of duty) were sub HD.

Slightly of topic but most people talk about 4k gaming being demanding but if we were to play games on medium without AA. I would assume that most current cards would handle it just fine.

The only reason Batman AC uses physx is because it is the default physics engine for Unreal Engine 3. Even When Physx isn't being gpu accelerated it functions as the games main physics engine.
