Try an IBM X40 or X41 - 12.1" screen, 60GB and under $400, pluss, terrific battery life (and built to last!). If you've got the extra $150, go for the X60/61 as recommended by Spike.

I'm going to answer this not from experience from the x200, but from my lowly x40. It should be able dual displays like that no problem - if my 4 year old notebook can, then the brand new one certainly can!

I'm running a 250W Seasonic m-ATX PSU with the rig below, and it runs great! No problems, so don't be too obsessed with getting a 1kW PSU.
