    Anyone using Windows 2000 SP3?

Running SP3 on all nine of my domain controllers and everything has been fine. I have also recently installed the following post-sp3 hotfixes (no problems so far): Q320206 Q323172 Q323255 Q324380 Q326830 Q326886 Q328310 Q329115 Q329170 Q329834 Q810030 Q810833 Q329414(only installed on machines...

So I was doing some job searches on Monster....

Yes, i would agree there are more jobs for Microsoft products than non-Microsoft products. After all, Microsoft dominates the industry...duh!

    printing folder permissions

If you are running Windows, you can use cacls.exe to display file permissions. Add... > [filename.txt] to output data to a text file. ex: cacls *.* > files.txt Type cacls.exe to see list of switches.

I Like My WIndows 2000 without................ What about you?

SP3 adds two new services. "Automatic Updates" and "Background Intelligent Transfer Service". The two services work together. I recommend disabling these services. And as Smilin pointed out...services packs are must if your PC is on a network/internet. It is also a good idea to keep a "heads...

Windows 2000 - User Activity tracking

Yes, you can enable secruity auditing in Windows 2000. Configured in the same place as in XP (mentioned above).

Should I let Windows to manage the page file size?

You know what, I don't like your attitude. I rated you a 1...f'in hippie.

    Kerberos login

Kerberos is the name of the authentication protocol used in Windows 2000/XP. It is used for securing authentication. Older versions of Windows used NTLM. http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/howitworks/security/kerberos.asp

    So WinME can't see 512mg?

Actually...with the system that I had at the time of Windows Me, it was actually more stable for me than Windows 98. I never did recommend Windows Me to anyone, just because of how many people said they had problems with it. And just to rant....What is with people that say they know someone...

NEED A DOS EMULATOR TO PLAY GAMES IN XP

What games do you play? If your problem is with games that run too fast on a modern PC to play, then I too would be interested to know of an emulator that will turn your PC into a 66Mhz equivalent. Old DOS games like Duke Nukem 3D and Doom should run perfectly fine in XP running on a modern PC...

    WIN-XP Home Addition Problem

You can make it "private" the traditional way by editing the ACL of the folder. You will need to turn off Simple File Sharing. Open My Computer and click Tools and select Folder Options. Select the View tab and scroll down to the Advanced settings. In the list there should be something that...

Should I let Windows to manage the page file size?

Nothinman-That is correct. The file size will not shrink. I guess vary was the wrong term to use. What I meant by vary is that it can only get larger, depending on what Windows needs to use. JED... is that you???? ...nevermind, it has to be you. I checked your rigs. It would have to be one...

Adding a computer to a domain

I think I understand what you are trying to do... You want the users current local profiles to be rolled over to their new domain roaming profiles, right? It is possible, but I am not sure what you have to do, becuase I never tried to do it myself. A company called Aeilta has a domain migration...

The *Official* Asus A7N8X (Deluxe) Thread

I just ordered a A7N8X Deluxe. I hope it works out fine for me (I never had an Asus board, but I know they are good). It is replacing my MSI K7 Master (which is a good board too). It will only have a 1.2Ghz and in it for now. I will probably get a new CPU within the next few weeks.
