I don't think its the cables b/c everything works fine except for on boot. they are detected by the BIOS, I can select it from the boot menu and it boots, and they all function fine in XP.
From these posts I'm going towards the BIOS chip or the battery. My BIOS detects all my drives, SATA and IDE and its worked correctly for almost a year. Without changing anything I have a hard time believing my BIOS stopped detecting them (plus I can see them on POST). Thanks for the help and...

Hmm, that sounds interesting. I to have an Asus MOBO, more specifically I have the A8N-SLI Deluxe. I flashed the BIOS to 1014 and i swear it worked for the first reboot but now it does the disk failure again.
Any additional info?
