Audigy2 Driver issues - possible install messup

I think the installation went wrong when I recently installed an Audigy2 - but reinstalling hasn't solved the issues. DirectSound works, but thats about it - any Creative utilities / applications all fail to run :( Creative Diagnostics(the only thing which runs) gives: Hardware found...

Analogue connection, when will it be obsolete and replaced by dvi ?

It certainly will be - unless they devise something new instead of an updated DVI. We need high res, low response time screens at affordable prices first though. Graphics cards could easily cope even as they are today.

Analogue connection, when will it be obsolete and replaced by dvi ?

DVI-I has extra pins through which to transmit analogue signals. When used with a DVI-I to VGA converter the DVI-I can provide high resolutions, although a dedicated VGA port is debatably better. However when used to power an LCD/TFT screen the resolution is limited to a mere 1280x1024 in...

    Parhelia-512 vs. Radeon 9700...

NO, the 8mb wont make any differecnde in normal use, for it to be effective you would have to request reads of the SAME data over and over again, WITHOUT changing it : this is unreleastic behaviour of applications. Yes the burst throughput of the cache is capable of >133 Mb/s but the disk...

Analogue connection, when will it be obsolete and replaced by dvi ?

NO it wont happen because of the maximum resolution support. However some CRTs now have DVI in addition to HD15, I dont think anyone would ever make a CRT with only DVI but if they did it would not be bigger than 19", unless we see a new DVI, but that would not be backward compatible anyway.

    Parhelia-512 vs. Radeon 9700...

Actually, it should make a difference, 4x AGP bandwidth can be completely filled by some current texture transfers, 4xAGP also limits the level of improvement a faster CPU makes, The R9700 has a 20Gb/s internal mem. bandwidth, current main RAM has transfer rates of > 3.2Gb/s therefore having...

Analogue connection, when will it be obsolete and replaced by dvi ?

Although high refresh rates are good, those for the R9700 are more than high enough, the link above is an article which judges IQ purely on refresh rate - unless ive misinterpretted it - the IQ to me is what it LOOKS like!

How do you get your Radeon to do 1400x1050??? I also want to do this on the second head of my laptops GF4 so that it runs at same res as the TFT on it!!!

You should have @ least a one year warranty, they're also be a warranty on the PSU but unlikely to cover consequential losses, insurance however...

    ti4400 problems

I also now think it must be a defOA card! nVidia's drivers may be unified but sometimes you need to install the g.card mnu's drivers first elase you won't get their 'extras' also the 'extras' off the old card could cause niggles. Ussually OK not to but best to be safe.

Analogue connection, when will it be obsolete and replaced by dvi ?

Yes, but that won't improve image quality! DVI-I / DVI-D when used with a digital flat panel will ensure that no image quality is lost due to cross talk and ADC and DAC etc. The actual image quality is dependant on the display controller and other GPU/VPU stuff and the screen itself, using...

    Resolution Coversion

I take it your an electronics engineer then, with appropriate access to suitable manufacturing facilities??? How on earth are you planning on implementing a resolution conversion algorithm in self built hardware?

    Parhelia-512 vs. Radeon 9700...

Ive just checked back @ Matrox site: OK it has independant analogure which I didn't originally realise but the DVI's must run at same res - R9700 doesent even have dual DVI - so Pahelia wins there, but Im still going to go for R9700 One more point: The OEM version of Pahelia is slower than...
