MicroAdvantage / AOpen is the worst of the current 16x DL drives - get a NEC or a Benq and use it with good media, which is now very cheap. All the drives are running around the same price, so it's not worth the hassle to deal with a poor drive just to save a few bucks.
My BB (south FL) had mostly Made in Taiwan, but a handful of packages had a sticker over the original label with a different UPC and "Made in Japan". Some of the case bottoms were white and others were black. Both turned out to be YUDEN000T02.
The same BB had Made in Japan Fuji 100 packs...
Get it down to around $30 net by PMing at CC.
CC deal: 120 OTD - 30 MFR - 20 CCR = 70
Stpls deal: 80 OTD - 30 MFR = 50
Go to CC w/ Stpls ad and it becomes:
120 - 44 PM (110%) - 30 MFR - 20 CCR = 26 plus tax on 76
Tip on identifying drive: If box is shrink-wrapped and mentions Pinnacle...
This is a Tualatin processor. Unless your mobo was a very late model, you'll probably need to spend a few bucks (<8) more for an FCPGA-to-FCPGA2 adapter socket. You might also need to reflash your BIOS to recognize the new chip.

One caution about Panaflo fans - they don't have a speed sensor, even if you use the 3-pin plug. This is not a problem unless your mobo has a fan alarm that can't be disabled.
