    Netopia login problem

It will have one of two: <> A username and password are being requested by http://<IP address>. The site says: "Netopia-3000" <> A username and password are being requested by <website>. The site says: "Netopia-3000" The "<IP address>" & "<website>" are what changes and they are specific to...

    Netopia login problem

I have a Netopia 3000 wireless router and a Win XP machine. Nothing exotic about the setup. Just a single desktop machine. I've had the router for a couple years. The past year or so I have had intermittent issues with certain web pages. I will get a blank page and a login window that refers to...

    PDF Editing

Yes....I know it would be easy to ask the professor, but these folks aren't your typical university professors....long story, and I won't bore you with details. When asked, they usually say 'ok'....and we never get anything.......so, I've learned that's not an option, and if it were, I wouldn't...

    PDF Editing

Hi everyone... I think I'm placing this is the right category. My professor emails PDF docs to the class, which is all fine and good. The issue I have is (if I can explain this clearly)....each page has about 4 block-windows which look as if they would be single pages in a Power Point...

    Hardware issue....no cable installed error??

I got it.......finally. I found the solution on another website --- http://ask.slashdot.org/story/09/01/22/2126205/how-to-diagnose-a-suddenly-slow-windows-computer The HD managed to get itself into a PIO mode instead of a DAM mode. I went into device manager, uninstalled the IDE driver for...

    Hardware issue....no cable installed error??

Ok....good to know about the RAM, thanks. Actually the write caching is already set on the drive. I did not know that one, thanks (again). The slowness starts right at boot-up. The whole system is about half as fast as it was when all this happened. It's like someone flipped a switch and...

    Hardware issue....no cable installed error??

I've got 1 GB RAM Today I took the system down, pulled the cards, reinserted them. Checked CPUID. It seems to 'see' all the memory. And all this just started rather suddenly about 2 days ago.....it's really wacked.

    Hardware issue....no cable installed error??

I have a defrag utility that says the HD's are all good. I'm sure that's not 100%, and I don't mean to question your suggestion mfenn. I appreciate it, but I will look into getting the diagnostics, thanks ketchup79.....yeah, that's what I am wondering. But would a bad cable also cause the...

    Hardware issue....no cable installed error??

Hi All... I'm having what I THINK is a hardware issue. At first I thought it was a virus (or whatever). I have scanned and scanned and scanned my system. I have a resident, active antivirus program that is updated at least once a day (AVG), and I have several others I use to run scans anytime...

    eudcedit anyone?

Ahh...ok, now that's helpful! Thanks, and....no problem. I was, I guess, hoping that there was some utility or work-around with this thing that I hadn't thought of, or tried yet. What you are saying makes sense tho, but I'm stubborn enough to believe that this thing *can't* be done...

    eudcedit anyone?

Hi all... I have been trying to figure this out and am at a stumbling block. Machine: PC ---- XP (Home) ---- clean, no problems at all, runs well. Problem: Using a (possibly) lesser known program called "eudcedit.exe" that lives in the i386 folder in (all?) windows OS's. It's a clunky...

    lab computer problem

One of our lab computers here at work has gotten into a log-in issue after a power outage. We need to retrieve the registration key, but no one seems to know where this is written down...IF it was ever written down anywhere. Is this key saved in the registry somewhere? Can we get at it...

    Suggestions about this Worm please

Thanks Azaran.......I'll look that over. They must have posted since I looked early this morning and last night. Good to know. Yes, I will have to restore the file. It's almost a full time job keeping up with this stuff. Thanks again ----- :)

    Suggestions about this Worm please

System stats: (XP Home)/zone alarm, I run several scanners over the course of each day 7 days a week/DSL connection, usually a clean system. Last night during a scan with a-squared (free). It found the following: Worm.Win32.Otwycal.c Located in C:\Windows\explorer.exe I deleted the...
