1 GB to 2 GB of RAM.

Yeah, but what about video rendering? I don't want to drop another $80 just to play BF2 better...

1 GB to 2 GB of RAM.

Right now I have 1 GB of ram, and Battlefield 2 is stuttering a lot. I'm thinking that upgrading to 2 GB will help the problem (because it has for many other people). But I'm wondering, will 2 GB of ram be a significant upgrade from 1 GB in terms of video editing/encoding? I do a lot of video...

    Driver questions...

So you think I should just leave it alone and revert the driver back to the original? Because I think the new drivers may give Battlefield 2 better performance...

    Driver questions...

Here are my specs: Asus A8N-E mobo Radeon X800 XL 256 mb video card Athlon 64 3200+ 1 GB ram OK, first of all, I guess I need to update my mobo's bios and drivers. I'm having some issues with the audio in GTA: San Andreas, and I think it may have to do with the audio drivers for my...

    First PC startup questions...

OK, I finished building my new PC last night, and I just finished applying Arctic Silver 5 to the heatsink and CPU. Good news so far. Everything starts up normally, lights come on, all good things. But I just want to make sure I set up the power supply correctly. I have an Antec Truepower...

    Is Thermal Paste required?

Well then why does it show them putting it on the heatsink? And why is the thermal pad on the heatsink?

    Is Thermal Paste required?

OK, I'm going to put some Arctic Silver on this thing...but I have a couple of questions. Last night, the system ran for about 10 minutes. Would this be enough time for the stock thermal pad to be melted in? If it has already been melted in, can I still apply Arctic Silver to it? Also, I...

    Is Thermal Paste required?

Because I already built the computer, and everything is up and running fine. I'd rather not go in a screw around with the heatsink any more just because one thermal "paste" is better than the thermal "pad" that came with it. Would there be any noticeable negative effects using the stock...

    Is Thermal Paste required?

I'm not going to be doing any overclocking or anything CPU intensive like that, so I think the thermal pad will be OK for me right now. And by the way, what is the blue thing in that pic you linked to? My heatsink didn't come with anything like that. It only had a plastic shell over the...

    SATA hard drive problem...

I'm trying to setup windows right now with my 250 GB WD HDD, but when it asks me to partition the drive, it says there's only 131069 mb available. What does this equate to in GB? I would think it means 131 GB, and that's a LOT less than 250 GB... Why isn't it recognizing the drive's full...

    Problem with first startup...

OK, I think I'm getting off pretty good so far, I don't have any MAJOR issues starting up, but there is one thing I'm worried about. None of the front LEDs are coming on. I'm almost positive they are all connected properly (although the printing on the actual motherboard is wrong I think...

    Is Thermal Paste required?

Yes, I'm using the heatsink and fan that came with the cpu. Also, there is a square in the middle of the bottom of the heatsink that has a gray gooey film on it. Is this the thermal pad? Or is the black layer on the bottom of the processor the thermal pad?
