the drive itself may be failing, some hd manufactures have tools available to download so the drive errors can be corrected or data recovered. what is reported by windows 7 when goto 'administrative tools / computer managment / disk management ' does the drive show up there ?

memtest is done outside the OS, so whatever drivers installed for whatever hardware has absolutely no affect on the outcome, if memory test fails = IT failed.

NO, fresh install of XP will require related drivers, which has to follow a certain method, posted a guide on another thread, you either follow, OR suffer a corrupted install, after which you will have to reinstall everything. nuff said !

speedfan can monitor temps, must be configured to watch whatever you want, you can also run more than 1 instance at a time.

did you run the extended hard drive test ? if not start there. then run memtest for atleast 6 passes, 0 errors acceptable. if both above pass then its likely hardware related.

have you run any hardware extended test ?

have you tried disabling Hot Plug and Play ? have a look in power management, maybe something there. since its happening with 2 boards from Asrock could it be a bios issue they may be having ?

dont be suprised if they are out dated.

see if intel released a win 7 driver for 'IntelPROset', or just update the driver to the lattest and run the update advisor again, are you using the lattest upgrade advisor ?
