Hi Eug,
I'm also a Rogers customer. I need to extract some recordings that have been saved in my 8300HD for years. I'm PC-based, but on the 64-bit version of Windows 7, which means there are no drivers available for the 8300HD. I can, however, dual-boot into Ubununtu and that's where my...
For a week or so, I've started seeing this weird blue dialog. It appears periodically, has no title bar or any identifying characteristics, and the error message is useless. I can't figure out which program it's from the one app I updated last week has been confirmed not to be the source...
But in my urban condo, the 2.4GHz band is saturated with other people's networks. That's why I want to use 5GHz 802.11ac between the main router and the bedroom bridge. In the bedroom, however, I want my (802.11n) devices to connect to the bridge, not the faraway router which would give horrible...
I have a RT-AC66U as my main router in the office. I would like to connect my bedroom to the office via 802.11ac; I'm contemplating buying a second RT-AC66U and running it in Media Bridge mode on the 5GHz band. I would then connect my devices to the bedroom router on the 2.4GHz band.
Is this...
Although I've been a techy PC user for a long time, this is the first time I've had to reinstall my whole system. (I'm moving from an old Vista-based HDD to a new hybrid drive with Windows 7, with the User and ProgramData folders on a separate partition.) My concern is with all the 3rd-party...
I just got a NAS and am finally setting up a backup routine. My PC came with one big C: partition, where my data files are stored. The rational thing is to separate them from the OS and applications. I don't want to reinstall everything just to start fresh and be given a chance to specify the...
The atapi errors are really puzzling, since the backup is created on a NAS. The (external) optical drive isn't even plugged into the laptop!
This morning, I tried imaging the 3 partitions separately. I was able to image the Recovery and D partitions without error. The problem clearly lies...
Here's some additional information. I tried imaging the disk again and here are the events up to the Reflect error:
Level Date and Source Event ID Task
Time Category...
Thanks for all your suggestions.
I've run chkdsk several times, always getting the same result.
That's why I used "Intelligent Sector Copy" (only copies blocks used by the OS), "Enable file write caching" (helps avoid I/O errors) and "Ignore bad sectors when creating images".
I'm imaging...
I tried to image my laptop's HD, but Macrium Reflect would abort with an I/O error. One of the solutions found online was to run chkdsk c: /f /r in an elevated-privilege command window. When the laptop rebooted and ran chkdsk, it reported the following:
Checking file system on C:
