Agreed. DVI is the only way to go. I noticed a difference using my viewsonice vx900 and dell 1900 ultrasharp when I used my old video card with dvi and analog outputs. once i upgraded to dual DVI the subtle smearing went away.
I believe on the belkin "virtual server" is the same as "port mapping".
Try this:
1)Under "Private IP" type "192.168.2.x" (whatever IP the home PC is and you are trying to connect)
2)"Private Port" type "3389"
3) Select "Type" "UDP"
4) "Public Port" type "3389"
