Error when playing some DVDs + IRQ sharing

I have two problems, that has kind of been there all the time. All my PCI cards share IRQ with my graphics card, a GF3 Ti200. I have tried swapping them around, have none in slot 1 and 2 + I have tried to set their IRQ in the BIOS. The other problem is when I play some DVDs. I recently got a...

    Cool down this HOT baby

I have the VIA drivers installed. I might try to find some new ones or reinstall though. I'm using Detonator 11.02 I think for the GeForce 2 GTS. I wonder about some BIOS issues though. Should I turn on AGP FastWrite ? And should the CAS or what it's called on the RAM be 3T ? Do you think I...

    Cool down this HOT baby

Hmm, I ordered 2 fans for the case, 1 for a 5.25" system bay, and some Arctic Silver thermal paste (which should be better?). But I won't get it for a week, that's the problem. Btw, when I want the thermal grease off to replace with the Artcic Silver one, do I have to clean the processor...

    Cool down this HOT baby

I've got my 1,2GHz T-bird running now at 133x9. I have a superorb cooler for it, and I think I got the thermal grease applied correctly now. I got 4 other fans in the system, 1 for the GFX card, one for the chipset, and two for the Power Unit. It uses to be around 57 C, the most I've seen it to...

    Thermal liquid

Allright, I've applied thermal liquid. According to ASUS Probe, my PC is now 57 degrees Celsius, that must be WAY to hot for only surfing on the net with mIRC and two IE windows open ? Please help. I have 6 fans in the computer, 1 for the chipset, two for the processor (Superorb), two for the...

    TBird 266FSB on A7V KT133A

Oh, I have a ASUS board, do I need to do it on the motherboard ? It's jumperfree setup. I'll try when I get home then, could have been Windows that messed it up.

    TBird 266FSB on A7V KT133A

Now I'm starting to wonder. Can't I run my 1,2GHz at 133MHz x 9 ? Do I have to run it at 100MHz x 12 with my RAM also at 100 ? Now I'm running RAM 100, CPU 100x9... because I had some problems, haven't tried after I reinstalled Windows. I've had a lot of trouble with ATA-100 too. No help yet in...

    Thermal liquid

I got some silicone stuff with the fan, I didn't apply it though, cause I wasn't sure where it should go. But I'm assuming it's supposed to go only on the chip in the middle of the brick ? A small layer on top there ?:o

ASUS A7V with Tbird 1,2GHz ,266MHz FSB, Need help :)

Yesterday I got my new powerunit, processor, motherboard, RAM and cooling fan. I put everything together, and started up my machine. Now there are some points I know very little about. They are clock frequencys on RAM and CPU, and hard-drive connecting to Ultra-ATA-100 or what it's called. What...

Extremely slow restart after install of V7700

After I have installed the V7700 card and drivers my PC takes a LONG time getting past the dos window of the restart in Windows 98 SE. It says the SB16 emulation has a conflict with a PCI device too, but I don't think that has anything to do with it, cause I tried REM'ing it. Anyone experienced...

GTS vs MX for 3D Studio Max?

I'm not positive, but I think you may notice a difference in the viewports too. They can be heavy enough when you have a big scene, and a lot of RAM, and a good video card will help.
