    3.5 mm to RCA problems

Thanks for the reply. I believe the laptop registers that there is cable plugged in for two reasons: -The speakers are disabled. -Sound does come out of the TV when I plug the computer directly into the TV, bypassing the RCA switch. This...

    3.5 mm to RCA problems

Hi guys, I've got a bit of strange one here that's really had me scratching my head. I've got an old netbook that I've decided to set up as a file server/HTPC. I've got a 3.5 mm to RCA plug going through through a 3-way RCA switch to the TV. I've got a Wii and a DVD player going through the...

    Kinda off-topic... BUT...

Exactly like that. It's a Dodge. I was hoping to avoid cracking the stereo itself open, though, and just chop the wiring harness.

    Kinda off-topic... BUT...

Hi all, I know this is kinda off-topic, but it is still audio-related. As an impoverished full-time student, I've come into an older free car. It has a stock CD player, but I'd like to ghetto-rig a 3.5 mm jack into it so I can play music off my phone. I've looked at the wiring diagram and...

    WINE help for a newbie

I've tried that, and I get the following message: The file '/media/ACLT2002/setup.exe' is not marked as executable. If this was downloaded or copied from an untrusted source, it may be dangerous to run. For more details, read about the executable bit. Is there a workaround for this?

    WINE help for a newbie

Hi all, I'm trying to configure WINE to run AutoCAD for a course I'm taking, and I'm having a helluva time. My problem is that I really don't understand terminal commands. I'm following the following instructions: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=6035 I'm fine up...

My rabbit is trying to kill the internet

Haha, yeah. I've covered all the wires I can find with split loom. But I'm just concerned about the safety aspects of replacing a 7.5 volt AC adapter with a 12 volt AC adapter.

My rabbit is trying to kill the internet

Hi all, This is a random question, and quite possibly in the wrong forum, but here goes anyway. My girlfriend's house-roaming rabbit has declared war on the internet. He has chewed through CAT5 twice, and now he just chewed through the 7.5 V adapter on the wireless router. I replaced it with a...

    Definite noob question

    a) It's not showing up in any of the menus, it doesn't light up or spin except during startup, and it doesn't open when I push the button. It works fine when I boot up during Windows. b) I'll give that a try once I get home. I was kinda wondering if there was a way to do it through Package Manager.

    Definite noob question

Hi all, I'm a total Unix noob, so please be gentle if this turns out to be an incredibly stupid question. I recently installed Solaris 10 on my secondary hdd. I've gotten everything working smoothly, except a) my Liteon DVD burner isn't recognized, and b) I can't access files on my main hdd...

Help me find the right external enclosure?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I know this seems like a real bonehead question. But the part I orginally ordered (http://www.coolerguys.com/840556082071.html) looks very similiar and is in no way compatible with the hard drive I'm trying to save. How is that one any different?

Help me find the right external enclosure?

Hi all, My girlfriend recently cooked her Dell Inspiron 1100 to death. I'm looking for an external enclosure so that I can save her data. My first effort using newegg resulted in me ordering the wrong part. My second effort with Dell service resulted in them taking an hour of my time, $20 of my...
