I have 2 virtual machines that I am trying to get talking to each other

I did not know if this should go under networking or software for windows. I have virtualbox running Windows8.1 on 1 and pfSense on 2. I have pfSense LAN as 10.1.1.1 without dhcp. I have my network adapter in W8.1 set up with the gateway as 10.1.1.1 What network setting should I have LAN in...

build your own passthrough device capable of PIA openVPN AES 256 SHA 256 RSA-4096

Thanks for replying JackMDS. That is the same old page note on it - "Encryption algorithm" = "BF-CBC (128-bit)" Everytime I try to change the encryption it refuses to connect even when I use the certificate found on this page...

Still no luck, the guides are all from older versions of pfSense and a lot of the stuff got moved around or was removed-very confusing to me.

Encryption software, now that TrueCrypt has ceased operations?

The AES-NI do not make it any faster for TC, I am on a 14core Xeon @2.5GHz and it takes me at least a minute to load windows from my m.2 SSD , however once Windows is loaded everything is fast again.

it turns out that one of the memory modules is bad. I will be pulling memory out of a spare laptop then reinstall pfSense and see if I can get it going again.

I am not doing anything they would want me for, but I don't want them spying on me either. And I sure do not want my account hijacked. I have a crazy ex that has tried to sneak into my home and has also taking over my email accounts. I have nothing against LE they are doing their jobs, it is...

How do you pay for your VPN provider?

I pay with credit card. I know that this is not a secure way of doing things but I figure that since I don't download porn of any kind then I am not targeted. If they really want you they will track you down even if you use bitcoin.

Using a VPN or tor? Well, obviously you are a criminal!

I forgot, I do all my banking online-so that is important to me as well.

Would Ubuntu make a good secure server for VPN server?

I have PIA and made a small ITX PC that I want to use for VPN for my families entire network. I had built it for pfSense but it did not work out well, I could not follow the instructions as they no longer applied to the newer version that I had. I could not get pfSense to work with anything...

build your own passthrough device capable of PIA openVPN AES 256 SHA 256 RSA-4096

Thanks JackMDS for replying. When I said bridge I meant a bridge in between my modem and router. The router would handle the wireless network. I was referring to AirVPN only allowing like 15 characters if I remember it correctly. I am very concerned that someone might log into my account...

I'm using PIA to protect my intellectual property from hackers and soon will have it between my modem and router thus protecting my daughters against predators.

Please correct me if I am wrong. My understanding of the password is this-it is used to login and be connected and is not used for the actual encryption. But if a password is like only 20 characters long it would be easy to crack and they would be able to login on my account and do stuff like...
