Yeah it is a Gateway machine, and I think that might be the best thing I can find for a BIOS upgrade. I will give that a shot to see if it helps it out. thanks You been really helpful :)

No this machine was actually in use before. I had been running Windows 2000 on it previously, but then I bought WinXP for a upgrade OS. Before I had only 1 hard drive so was not using any kind of RAID. But I just recently bought this RAID Controller Adaptec 2100S and also another hard drive...

To be honest i would choose the 3200 just mainly because it is a faster Bus speed and will help performance significantly. But like all decisions, cost is a major issue, and you need to way what you are going to be doing with the PC compared to how much you want to spend to get it to be running...
