Running Cables Cat 5 Power ect...

Can you say data corruption!!!!!! 100 meters is a guideline not an absolute rule. Length of run depends on quality of cable, connections, and electrical interferance. Not a good idea to run cat5 next to ac power.

My Fujitsu HD may be dying.

It doesn't matter where you connect the drive. Your drive probably died on its own. It happens to every make of hard drive. Over the last few months I have noticed that the Fujitsu drives are performing and lasting longer then Maxtors. Every manufacturer has its ups and downs! Ron

HELP!!! AHHHH!!! WTF!!!! READ ME!!! FAST!!!!

If you can go into safe mode you will be OK. Just remove every thing from Device manager in safe mode, then search in the registry for child000. Delete the child headings under the MF tree. This will get rid of the old IDE controller drivers. Then reboot in regular mode and start redetecting. It...

    HELP Overclocking PIII 1000Mhz

I have overclocked 3 PIII 1000EBs so far to 1103 Mhz. just leave the ram setting on 133:133 and set CPU speed to manual. Set your FSB speed up and test for stability. I am typing this on my home machine which is running 7.5 x 147 = 1103. Has been stable in games and all programs with stock...

Building new system and need help

Not all PIII chips have a designation code letter assigned to them. PIII 650E is designated with an E because it runs at 6.5 x 100 fsb. Chips that can run at 100 or 133 like the PIII 800 need the different codes to represent which one they are. 800E runs at 8 x 100, while 800EB runs at 6 x 133...

The only thing that I can see wrong is where are you going to get a PIII 650 that runs at 133 FSB?????? No such chip. I also don't think that V3 is a good choice. Ron

    What's up with this?!

Make sure that your Bios is set to PLUG AND PLAY OS...OFF Don't let windows set the IRQs. Then you might be able to shuffle the IRQs in device manager or in the bios. You can set the IRQ individualy for any of the PCI slots in the Bios. Ron

    Promise ATA100 controller on A7V & Win98...HELP!

If you have a SBlive then you must uninstall the drivers for the soundcard first. Every time I build on the A7V with a live I have to setup the promise controller first. Just a guess that you have a Live. If not I wish you luck. Ron

    Sony CPD-E400?

I own 2 Sony E400s. I love them. The only other one I would consider is the NEC triniton tube. Looks just about as good but costs about $100 less. Ron

    HDD problem!!!

To fully remove a Overlay program you must run a debug script on your drive. I have had to do this many times over the past few years. Follow these instructions to the letter. You will need a boot disk with debug on it. Debug Script Run FDISK first to kill the FAT file. Boot from a Dos...

W98 se upgrade, reformat drive - how do you not load W95 first??

i don't think they understand that there are two different "Upgrade" disks. One is the full Windows 98se for people that own older windows products, and the other was a patch disk that brought your windows 98 first release up to SE. The full program will load on a empty drive whereas...
