AMD Zen “RYZEN” CPUs Detailed – 8 Cores, 3.4Ghz+ & Auto Overclocking With “XFR”

Looks good! I'll most likely be switching to this sometime late next year.

    FX-8350 vs i5-6402p for gaming

There's a Microcenter around me, but it's quite a drive. I'll hang onto my system and hold out for a nice deal on an i5 upgrade kit sometime next year. I saw that deal earlier and was mighty tempted. I'm happy with the $600 system I got though. Runs my older Steam and Blizzard games fine at...

    FX-8350 vs i5-6402p for gaming

Sorry for taking so long to reply guys. I've decided to go with the AMD system and go against what I mentioned earlier and upgrade the internals later next year when I can find a $200ish deal on an Kaby Lake CPU/mobo/memory combo. Thanks for all the help!

    FX-8350 vs i5-6402p for gaming

Thanks for all the replies! I need to edit my sig as I don't have that system anymore. My current system is a i7 6700HQ HP notebook with integrated graphics. XD Going off your responses, I think I'll either stick with the Intel system, or wait another 3 months or so for Kaby Lake. If anything...

    FX-8350 vs i5-6402p for gaming

Ah okay. The reason for those 2 specific processors is because I'm deciding between 2 prebuilt systems. The 8350 system comes with a RX 480 4gb card and costs $600 (USD). The 6402p system ships with a 1060 3gb card and costs $50 more. Whichever one I decide to go with, I don't ever really intend...

    FX-8350 vs i5-6402p for gaming

Hey guys! I'm trying to game (possibly record/cast gameplay too via OBS) on a budget and would like your opinions. Most everything else being equal, (GPU, memory, and etc) which one would be better for gaming? Although the i5 seems to cost more upfront, I think it'll make up the difference in...

Acer Aspire Desktop PC $349 on Web, $289 in Store w/ Monitor

I bought one the other day and the quality is pretty high. They're almost right up there with Compaqs and HPs. Like most Compaqs and HPs nowadays, it does not come with any CDs/DVDs. It has a recovery partition and gives you the option to burn your own restore discs if you should so choose...

    HOT! Battlefield 2 - $34.99 @ Fry's Electronics!!!

My specs are similar to yours and mine lagged quite a bit with the 5.6 Catalyst drivers. After downloading and installing an older set of drivers (I got the 5.4 based Omegas), the demo ran as smooth as silk.

    Is PC-cillin any good?

I'm guessing that it doesn't work as well as the bigger names like Norton and McAffee, but how does it stack up?

    Antec smart power 2.0 500

I bought TruePower 2.0 380W from Fry's a few weeks ago. How does it compare with this SmartPower? Does the modular design affect the power output in any way?

GTA San Andreas $29.99 at CUSA this Sunday

The Fry's in my area took an extra step and temporarily dropped the price down to $29.99 for the PC version.

Which Linux package should I download for my Athlon 64?

I'm not really sure what it's meant for. What if it's only compatible for Intel's Itanium CPUs or something? :(

What will the power requirements be in 1.5 years?

I'm guessing that 400W would be sufficient for low-to-midrange systems with high end ones requiring 480W or above.

Which Linux package should I download for my Athlon 64?

According to /. a new version of Debian ('Sarge') has been released today. Which of the packages am I supposed to get for my Athlon 64 -based rig? I'm pretty sure the i386 will work, but is IA64 the one that I should get for my processor?
